My C4 Grand Picasso displayed "gearbox faulty" last week setting the car into NEUTRAL as it dropped out of gear. Intermittently it would drive (so logic said that something else was causing the box not to drive not the box itself).
Joined: Mar 23 2012. Location: Scotland. The car has been juddering at low speed (2010 1.6HDi EGS) and so tried the hard reset method tonight. Stopped, put on and then off the handbrake, and then floored it to just over 40, and then cruised at 40. Blimey, for a car that size, with just a 1.6, it fair shifts!
The gearbox diff should last much longer (car had done 40,000). The total bill for this job was £2,100, (but included a new 6th gear as they also advised that this was fractured). Car was in garage for 6weeks and 2 days for this work to be carried out. Citroen specialist advised this was due to Citroen parts on back order!
I have problems with my 2009 C4GP. The issue appears as warning lights for ABS, ESP, Handbrake and Gearbox. The car has the EGS semi auto box, and will not change up in Auto and will only change to max of 3rd in manual. I believe this is the limp mode activating (please confirm). Result new actuator £950. The garage contacted Citroen because the age and mileage of the car and the problem started just out of warranty. Upshot the nice people at Citroen are replacing the actuator for a large discounted price. Car is now off the road while waiting for a part as the actuator failed while I was on the motorway.
